Blida.. the city of roses, snow and arts

Arabiaweather.com-Ismail Gasmi- The city of Blida is located 50 km south of the Algerian capital, at the foot of the Atlas Mountains, where it is considered the main passage to the Sharia National Park, which is famous for its picturesque nature, with its majestic Atlantic cedar trees, with its fresh air in summer and snow in winter.

The city of Blida was famous for the rose industry in the past, but this industry has known great shortcomings at the present time, and despite that, you can find in the most important streets of the city on the way between Bab al-Sabt and Mulberry Square. And near there, there is the Al-Kawthar Mosque, which is the iconic landmark of the city of Blida, and it includes other ancient mosques with beautiful engineering designs, the most famous of which are Al-Badr Mosque and Al-Mujahid Mosque, which is the oldest.

The old city, or as it is called here "Al-Bilad", still preserves its narrow alleys and a number of its Andalusian, Turkish and colonial buildings.

If you want to relax in the picturesque heights of Sharia, and you can reach it by cable car (the line is 7 kilometers long) or by land road (15 kilometers), we advise you to visit the old city of Blida first, to enjoy a little bit of its atmosphere and taste what you want of fresh food.
