Arab Weather - Weather maps at the Arab Weather Regional Center indicate that the Levant will be affected during most days of the current week by unstable weather conditions that result in rainfall on several occasions amid cold winter weather in various regions, in contrast to the past weeks, during which the weather was closer to spring than to winter.
In detail, weather experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that the latest computer outputs indicate that the Levant, specifically Syria and Lebanon, will be affected during most days of the current week by unstable weather conditions, as clouds multiply at different altitudes and showers of rain fall on many areas, especially on coastal areas including Latakia and Tartous, in addition to the mountains overlooking the coast. The rain coincides with lightning and thunder sometimes, which causes flash floods and a rise in water levels on the roads.
God willing, it is expected that rain clouds will extend to the Lebanese coasts and some inland areas, accompanied by rainfall that may be heavy, especially in coastal areas, including the capital Beirut. The rain may be accompanied by thunderstorms with the possibility of floods forming in some areas.
Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Center explained that the final rainfall is expected to be large, ranging from 100 to 150 mm of rain, and may exceed that depending on the interaction of the terrain and mountains with the rain clouds. This amount means that the surface of the earth on the coasts of Syria and Lebanon, in particular, will receive large amounts of water. If the rainfall is 150 mm, it is equivalent to 150 liters of water per square meter.
Due to the extreme cold in the lower layers of the atmosphere and the specificity of the mountainous heights in Syria and Lebanon, which are characterized by high peaks above sea level, it is expected that snow will fall and accumulate on many of the high mountainous heights in Syria and Lebanon, especially Mount Hermon. It is noteworthy that these peaks, which are accustomed to receiving large amounts of snow, have been suffering from a scarcity of snowfall since the winter square due to the lack of weather conditions affecting the Levant region, most of which are characterized by rain.
As for Palestine and Jordan, clouds are expected to appear at different altitudes, and opportunities will gradually become available on Sunday afternoon for scattered showers of rain to fall in different areas, which may be accompanied by hail showers over the high mountainous areas. During Monday, the chances of rain will increase and cloudy weather will prevail with occasional rain in the north, center, and east of the country, and sometimes extending towards the south of the country, God willing.
Rain is expected to continue in various regions of Palestine and Jordan on Wednesday, God willing, amid cold winter weather in most areas, especially during the night hours.
And God knows best.
