Arab Weather - The next full moon on Monday, August 19, 2024 , will be a unique event known as the "supermoon" or "blue moon." This moon has other traditional names such as the "sturgeon moon," the "corn moon," and the "barley moon."
According to a report from the US space agency NASA, this full moon will remain visible for three days and is the first of a series that includes four supermoons during this year.

Despite its name, a “blue moon” will not appear this color in reality. The term is a play on the English word “blue” and refers to a full moon that appears as an extra in a season that has four full moons instead of the usual three, which can affect the expected timing of religious festivals and celebrations such as Lent and Easter.
The term "supermoon" refers to the moon that appears when it is near its closest point to Earth, and was introduced by astrologer Richard Noll in 1979.
