It is considered one of the world famous symbols and is one of the remaining important parts of the ancient cities in Britain, and is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

It must be said that this castle is one of the important symbols among the historical heritage of the United Kingdom, especially among the Scottish castles, and it was voted as the first among the tourist attractions in Scotland and among the most attractive attractions within the British Travel Awards.

The castle complex includes a number of buildings, represented in the oldest part of the castle, St. Margaret's Chapel, which dates back to the 12th century AD, and the Scottish Memorial, which was built after the First World War.

There is also a Royal Crown Jewels store in the castle, which displays a collection of exclusively designed modern jewellery. The castle also includes a wing for Scottish costume known as Honors of Scotland, in addition to the site of the Scottish National War Memorial and the National War Museum of Scotland.

Visitors can enjoy guided tours inside the castle, and there are also audio guides in eight languages (Arabic is not available among them) that take you on a tour around the castle to learn about its architecture and its great history, which witnesses many historical conflicts and the wars of Scottish independence.

Even visitors with disabilities can climb to the top of the castle by 'courtesy vehicle' through the stairs leading to the Crown Jewels shop, gallery and memorial.
