Weather of Arabia - It is expected, God willing, that Egypt will be increasingly affected by the heat dome phenomenon for the first time this year on Sunday and Monday, which will be accompanied by the placement of a blazing center that will work to raise temperatures significantly to reach advanced spring levels. But what is the heat dome phenomenon and is it expected to break records? The highest temperatures recorded in the history of the Republic.
A heat dome is a climate phenomenon that results from an area of high atmospheric pressure in the high layers of the atmosphere that heats the air in the lower layers of the atmosphere due to a dynamic process called (heating under pressure), whereby with the compression of the air in a certain area under the influence of an air high in the high layers of the atmosphere, a heat dome is created. A hot, surface air mass whose intensity varies according to the region and the intensity of the air high, and also according to the period of its formation during the year.
The air riser traps the hot air like a lid or cover on a boiling pot. As the hot air expands vertically in the atmosphere, the high pressure pushes it toward the ground again. The air is compressed again under the area of high atmospheric pressure, causing it to gain more heat. This is scientifically known as sub-heating. the pressure.
A heat dome can cause temperatures to rise much higher than normal. In addition, the earth begins to warm up, loses moisture and increases the chance of forest fires. The effect of the heat dome phenomenon is further aggravated by urban areas and urban sprawl at the expense of agricultural areas, as Cities absorb and store heat, unlike urban and rural areas.
It is expected, God willing, and in conjunction with the increasing effect of the heat dome phenomenon on Monday, that most cities in Egypt will record the highest temperature this year, as the techniques of the Arab Weather Center show that temperatures on Monday may range between 43-44 degrees Celsius in large cities of the Republic, including northern... Lower Egypt, and perhaps neighborhoods of Greater Cairo, and it is not unlikely that the maximum temperature in parts of the Republic will reach approximately 45 degrees Celsius, especially in the desert areas, and these thermal values are considered the highest ever for this year.
But it is not expected that the records for the highest temperature ever recorded will be broken, as according to the General Authority of Meteorology, the maximum temperature recorded in an Egyptian region since 1988 reached 47 degrees Celsius.
God knows.
