ArabiaWeather.com- The Ethiopian Ministry of Energy and Irrigation spokesman, Buzuna Tolcha, announced that Ethiopia is in the process of establishing a 300-megawatt solar power plant.
And that his country has completed negotiations related to the construction of the project with the US International Trade and Development Consulting Company, according to the Turkish "Anatolia" agency.
Tolsha stated that the cost of the project will reach 900 million dollars, explaining that the installation of solar power plants will take place in the regions: Dredawa and the Afar region in the eastern part of Ethiopia. The capacity of these solar plants will reach 100 megawatts in the first round.
He pointed out that the recorded data confirm that Ethiopia has huge potentials of solar energy , with hydroelectric potentials reaching 45,000 megawatts, and more than 7,000 megawatts of geothermal energy.
