Footprints discovered in Türkiye dating back to 6400 BC

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">ArabiaWeather.com- A Turkish excavation team found human footprints dating back to 6400 BC, in the town of &quot;Yenişehir&quot; in Bursa Province, northwestern <strong>Turkey,</strong> during <strong>archaeological excavations</strong> in the town&#39;s &quot;Bargan&quot; hill.</p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height:1.6em">Archaeological excavations have been ongoing in the hill since 2007, in cooperation between the Netherlands Research Institute and the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, according to a faculty member in the Department of Archeology and Art History at the Turkish University of Koc and one of the members of the excavation team in the region, Dr. Rana Ozbal.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height:1.6em">Pottery vessels with distinctive characteristics were found at the site indicating the start of this industry in the Marmara Sea region from this site, which adds new information about the region.</span></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"></p><p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr"> <span style="line-height:1.6em">Ozbal also explained that two footprints were found on the floor of one of the adjoining houses on the hill, and it was found through the radiocarbon dating technique that they date back to the Neolithic period, about 6400 BC.</span></p>
