Glasgow Climate Summit warns of the sinking of several cities, including Arab

Weather of Arabia - On Monday, world leaders issued stern warnings at the opening of the climate summit in the Scottish city of Glasgow, stressing that the summit constitutes the last chance to save the world from this devastating phenomenon that will drown entire cities.

Representatives of 200 countries gather in the Scottish city of Glasgow over the course of two weeks to negotiate the cuts in emissions that ultimately lead to climate change, a phenomenon that has made natural disasters more dangerous in recent years.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, who is hosting the COP26 summit, said that the end of the world clock is ticking, as the engines and pumps through which we pump carbon into the air are causing great damage to the planet and increasing the Earth's temperatures very quickly.

He added, "We listened to the scientists and we should not ignore them. With a rise in temperature of more than two degrees Celsius, we risk food production and locusts will invade us, and if the temperature rises by more than 3 degrees Celsius, the number of hurricanes, floods, droughts and heat waves may increase."

He continued, "If the temperatures rise by more than 4 degrees Celsius, entire cities such as Alexandria, Shanghai, Miami and other cities may be lost under the waves of the sea."

The British Prime Minister said: "Whenever we failed to take appropriate measures, the situation worsened and we had to pay a heavy price... Humanity has consumed its time and it is time to address climate change."

He added, "We are close to the end of the world as we know it and we have to act quickly," noting that the industrialized countries were unaware of the problem and we had a duty to change.

He referred to the Paris Agreement, which did not comply with the provisions stipulated in it, stressing the importance of reducing dependence on coal due to its seriousness in global warming and climate change.
