Hatay records 50 degrees Celsius and breaks the temperature record in Türkiye

Weather of Arabia - Sinan Khalaf - Turkey announced its official accession to the list of countries that broke records in terms of temperatures for this summer, as one of the weather monitoring stations recorded 50 degrees Celsius for the first time in the country's history.

"According to the data of the Ministry of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change, a new record temperature was observed in Turkey's history on August 15," the Turkish Minister of Environment, Mehmet Oz Haseki, said in a post on the "X" social networking site, in the Al-Hasa region of Hatay.

The previous record temperature was recorded in the state of Şırnak in the southeast of the country in 2021, which is 49.1 degrees. Until July 2023 became the hottest month in the history of meteorology.
