During Wednesday/Thursday night, the weather will be warm across the region, becoming moderate in the late night and early morning hours. Winds will be variable, turning northeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
In detail, God willing, Egypt is expected to begin being affected on Thursday by a Khamaseen depression centered near the country, pushing hot air currents towards all regions of the country. Therefore, a significant rise in temperatures will occur, making them 10-12 degrees Celsius higher than their average for this time of year. The weather will be hot on the north coast and hot to very hot in the rest of the regions, with maximum temperatures exceeding the mid-thirties Celsius in a number of areas, including the capital, Cairo. The winds will be southwesterly, moderate in speed, accompanied by strong gusts laden with sand, which will lead to sandstorms and reduced horizontal visibility.
During the night hours of Thursday/Friday, the low pressure system will be centered in the north of the country before moving towards the Mediterranean Sea. Therefore, night temperatures will rise, and the weather will be warm in various regions, with the exception of the northwest of the country, where these regions are affected by marine air currents that work to lower temperatures. The weather will be moderate. Winds will be variable in direction and moderate in speed, while they will be active in the northwest of the country.
According to the latest numerical models, the country is expected to continue to be affected by the Khamasin weather conditions on Friday, with temperatures remaining several degrees Celsius higher than their average for this time of year. The weather will be hot to very hot in the northern part of Lower Egypt, reaching Greater Cairo and all of Upper Egypt, while temperatures will drop in the west, with warm weather in those areas, with temperatures in the twenties, in contrast to the rest of the country. Westerly to southwesterly winds are expected, sometimes brisk, causing sandstorms and increased dust concentrations in the atmosphere.
During the night hours of Friday/Saturday, the Khamasin depression will move away, and a cooler air mass will rush in behind it, accompanied by northwesterly air currents of marine origin, causing the heat to break and temperatures to gradually drop, starting from the northern coasts, passing through Greater Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, where the weather will become pleasant and tend to be cold, especially in the late night hours and dawn, while it will be warm in southern Upper Egypt, God willing.
During the forecasted weather conditions, the Arab Weather Center recommends paying attention to the risks of increased dust levels in the atmosphere and their impact on respiratory patients and horizontal visibility, especially in the west. It also recommends avoiding prolonged, direct exposure to sunlight.
And God knows best.
