Weather of Arabia - After a girl died as a result of inhaling carbon monoxide gas inside a car in the Egyptian governorate of Menoufia, where she took refuge in the car to escape the extreme heat due to a power outage in her home, Dr. Mahmoud Mohsen, a consultant in chest diseases, commented on the incident in a telephone interview with a media program in the evening. He added that a person begins to feel symptoms of suffocation within 45-60 minutes inside a closed car, and these symptoms are headaches and fatigue.
Dr. Mohsen appealed to citizens not to sit inside closed cars with the air conditioning running for long periods exceeding 45-60 minutes, to avoid the risk of exposure to carbon monoxide gas suffocation.
