Weather of Arabia - In the early hours of Friday morning (July 2), the state oil company "Pemex" noticed a fire in the ocean surface west of the Mexican Yucatan Peninsula. It was found that the fire was caused by a gas leak from an underwater pipeline that ignited the fires that appeared In the form of a flaming fiery eye that was captured in videos and spread widely in the world.
Social media pioneers dubbed the bright orange flames that were jumping out of the water like molten lava "eye of fire" because of the circular shape of the fire, which erupted a short distance from the Pemex oil platform.
According to Pemex, the fire took more than five hours to be completely extinguished, as the leaking gas ignited around 5:15 am local time. It was completely extinguished by 10:30 AM. Pemex said there were no reports of injuries, and production from the project was not affected.
This raises several questions about the way the fire started, where did the first flame come from? How was the fire extinguished? Does this incident have repercussions on the marine environment there?
