The spokesman for the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Omar Salama, said that the main and subsidiary pumping stations have stopped, and the water supply operations have stopped in all areas, due to the suspension of the main water systems of Disi and the Ministry of Ma'in. He emphasized that the electricity cuts had led to major imbalances in the water supply programs, noting that the Ministry of Water needed 6-12 hours after the electricity supply was restored to re-pump and fill the main lines.

The ministry spokesman stated that the backup generators were operated in the sewage stations, but the backup generators were not sufficient for pumping water because the pumping process needed to be supplied from the main sources and with major electrical energy, as the water sector consumes about 15% of the Kingdom’s total energy consumption. electrical.
