Important - Jordan | Public Security warns of rising water levels in several areas and calls for avoiding valleys and low areas

Weather of Arabia - The Directorate of Public Security said that most regions of the Kingdom are now witnessing heavy rainfall, which caused a rise in the water level, the formation of torrential rains and the slowdown of traffic due to the accumulation of water in a number of these regions, especially in the southern and central regions.

The Directorate indicated that the competent authorities deal with landslides and rocks that occurred on the Panorama / Dead Sea road as a result of the rain, and the Wadi Al-Qamar / Rusaifa road and the potash road towards / Ghor Al-Safi were closed as a precaution due to the high water level.

And she stressed the need to avoid low areas, valleys and streams of torrents, and not risk cutting them and moving to higher areas.

The Directorate indicated that it has put all its units and formations on standby to provide services and assistance to citizens, in partnership with all concerned institutions.

The Directorate called on the drivers to take the utmost care and caution while driving, to check the readiness of the vehicle before driving, to abide by traffic rules, to avoid high speeds and to commit dangerous violations.

It called on the Public Security Directorate to follow up the bulletins and instructions issued by the Directorate and the competent authorities, and to call the unified emergency number (911) when needed and necessary.
