Before we refer to several tips that contribute to alleviating the feeling of thirst during the fasting period, it must be pointed out first to the common belief among many people that drinking large amounts of water at suhoor protects from feeling thirsty during fasting, which is considered wrong, because Most of the excess water needed by the body, excreted by the college after a few hours of ingestion.
How do you relieve thirst during Ramadan?
- First of all, it is recommended at night and during the period of suhoor to eat fresh vegetables and fruits, because it reduces the feeling of thirst and hunger because they contain large amounts of water
- Avoid adding salt to food as much as possible, especially for different salads, and avoid eating pickles because it increases the body's need for water.
- The temperature of the water we drink should be medium-cold, especially at breakfast, because drinking iced water does not quench thirst, and it leads to capillary constriction and thus leads to poor digestion.
- Avoid drinking juices that contain artificially manufactured or colored materials that contain large amounts of sugar and replace them with fresh juices and fruits, because the juices increase the feeling of thirst.
- Avoid frequent spices and spices on foods, especially at suhoor, because they make the body feel the need to drink water all the time!
- Drink water in small quantities after breakfast, and intermittently.
- Drink liquids that help moisturize the body, such as licorice, tamarind and hibiscus, which in turn eliminate many microbes in the digestive system.
