Arab Weather - God willing, a new Khamaseen depression is approaching Iraq on Tuesday, with relatively hot and dry air currents sweeping in. Consequently, temperatures will rise significantly, becoming approximately two degrees Celsius higher than average for this time of year.
The weather will be hot in the northern and western regions and relatively hot in the rest of the country, with the appearance of medium and high clouds. Winds will be variable in direction, turning southeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
During the night hours of Tuesday/Wednesday, night temperatures will continue to rise again, and the weather will be moderate in various regions, tending to be cold during the late night hours and dawn in the northern and western regions.
With the appearance of medium and high clouds, a state of atmospheric instability will arise, with the chances of thunderstorms falling on some areas, concentrated in western Iraq, and the winds will be southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, and will be active with thunderclouds.
According to the weather maps at the Arab Weather Center, the country will be affected by the Khamaseen depression, which will center over Iraq and push more relatively hot air currents towards the country on Wednesday. Consequently, temperatures will rise further, peaking during the afternoon and evening hours, when temperatures will be 4-6 degrees Celsius higher than their average for this time of year.
On Wednesday, Khamasin weather conditions will prevail, with the weather being relatively hot, dry, and dusty, with maximum temperatures in the mid-thirties Celsius to slightly higher in the central and southern regions, including the capital, Baghdad.
Following the Khamaseen depression, clouds will increase at different altitudes during the afternoon and evening hours of Wednesday, and the opportunity will be created for thunderstorms and mud showers to fall on random areas of Iraq. The rain will be heavy at times in narrow geographical areas and accompanied by hail showers, but it will not be comprehensive in all areas. It is expected that some areas will witness thunderstorms and nearby areas without any rain.
The weather will remain drier and warmer than usual during the night hours, remaining dusty in many areas, especially in the evening and early evening hours. As the night progresses, the country will be affected by northwesterly air currents, resulting in a significant drop in temperatures in the north and west, with the weather tending to be cooler in those areas.
The winds will be southeasterly to northwesterly, active in speed, causing dust and sandstorms.
Important recommendations from Arab Weather:
Beware of the risks of increased dust levels in the atmosphere and their impact on patients with respiratory and eye diseases.
Beware of the possibility of reduced horizontal visibility on desert roads due to dust.
And God knows best.
