Weather of Arabia - An earthquake measuring 4.8 degrees on the Richter scale struck areas of northern Iraq near the border with Iran, at 9:30 (local time) on Thursday evening, as the epicenter is 22 km northeast of Halijah.

The tremor was felt by the residents of the cities of Sulaymaniyah and Halija, in addition to Kirkuk and Baghdad, according to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
