Arab Weather - The latest forecasts indicate the formation of a strong sandstorm in the Levant desert as a result of the rush of a cold air mass coming from the western Mediterranean. The sandstorm is gradually moving towards western Iraq, accompanied by cold winds, leading to heavy sand and dust storms in desert areas.

The cold winds are characterized by their high speed and heavy weight, which leads to a noticeable decrease in visibility in many desert areas, with a lack of horizontal visibility in some areas, especially on the desert roads that connect Iraq to neighboring countries.

A low pressure system will cross the northern regions tonight, with heavy snow on the mountain peaks.

During the night hours of Sunday/Monday, the northern regions will be affected by a low pressure system accompanied by a very cold air mass of polar origin, as clouds multiply and showers of rain fall in the north, sometimes heavy and accompanied by hail showers with snow falling and accumulating on the northern mountain peaks, especially in the border areas. Cold weather prevails in the north and west of the country and tends to be cold in the rest of the regions.
