ArabiaWeather.com - Japanese scientists have succeeded in creating a semi-transparent lithium battery that can be charged with energy directly from sunlight.
Scientists, who belong to a private university in Tokyo, presented their innovation during the "Innovation Japan 2015" exhibition, noting that it will be possible to benefit from this innovation in daily life in the future.
Scientists needed to make some modifications to materials already used in regular lithium batteries, to be able to create the new battery.
The new battery is considered a development of another innovation that Japanese scientists also supervised two years ago, as they were able to charge lithium batteries with solar energy through an independent solar cell outside the battery, but the new innovation, which is still in the development stage, was able to integrate the cell inside the battery.
The Japanese team hopes to use their innovation in the future to manufacture smart tools at home or at work that use surrounding light sources to generate energy.
