Arab Weather - The Amman Municipality announced on Wednesday a medium state of emergency starting on Wednesday evening to deal with the weather conditions.

Nasser Al-Rahamna, the Secretariat’s spokesman, confirmed the Secretariat’s teams’ readiness to be present in the field and respond to any reports received by the Tlaa Al-Ali Emergency Room, calling on citizens to contact the unified call center (102 and 117180) to report any observations.

The Secretariat warned citizens of the need to exercise caution, avoid approaching valleys and low-lying areas, not to connect roof gutters to sewage networks to avoid flooding roads, and to refrain from throwing waste randomly to avoid blocking rainwater drainage lines.

The Secretariat also stressed the importance of checking submersible pumps in basements and shops located below street level, and for merchants to take precautions when storing goods in warehouses and basements.

The Secretariat called on contractors and construction project owners to secure building materials to avoid them being eroded.
