Jordan: Amman Municipality declares a moderate emergency tomorrow morning to deal with the upcoming depression

<p style=";text-align:left;direction:ltr">Weather of Arabia - The Municipality of Amman declared a moderate state of emergency, starting tomorrow morning, Sunday, to deal with the upcoming depression accompanied by a cold air mass with rain falling in the north and center of the Kingdom, accompanied by thunder and hail showers, leading to the formation of torrents and a rise in water levels in the valleys and low-lying areas.<br /><br /> The media spokesman for the Amman Municipality, Nasser Al-Rahamneh, confirmed the readiness of the municipality’s staff on the ground to deal with any reports received at the Tla’ Al-Ali emergency room, calling on citizens, if any observation is detected, to call the unified call center numbers (102 and 117180).<br /><br /> The Municipality calls for taking caution by staying away from valley streams and low-lying areas, not connecting house gutters (roofs) to sewage manholes (sewers) to avoid their overflow on the roads, and not throwing waste randomly as it causes the closure of rainwater drainage lines.<br /><br /> It is necessary to inspect submersible pumps on floors and shops that are located below street level, and for merchants to take preventive precautions when storing goods in warehouses and settlement floors.<br /><br /> The Municipality of Amman calls on contractors and owners of construction projects to take the initiative to secure building materials to avoid their erosion and direct cause of the closure of rainwater drainage lines.</p>
