Weather of Arabia - The administrator of the Koura Brigade, Bakr Al-Kaabneh, announced at dawn today, Thursday, the closure of the Deir Abi Saeed-Zamalia road leading to the northern Jordan Valley due to the collapse of a rocky section on the wide road.
During an inspection tour of the road, Al-Kaabneh said that the collapse occurred due to the heavy rainfall, while the mechanisms of the concerned authorities removed rocky and dirt obstacles from the road body, according to the official news agency, Petra.
He pointed out that the closure of the road continues until further notice until it is confirmed that there are no further collapses in order to preserve the safety of road pedestrians.
The Public Security Directorate had announced the state of roads in the Kingdom until 1 am on Thursday, as follows:
Capital Territory:
All areas of the capital, Amman, are witnessing heavy snowfall and the beginning of accumulations on all main and secondary roads, and the main and secondary roads are impassable with extreme caution and it is not recommended to walk on them.
North Territory:
Irbid Governorate: witnessing heavy snowfall, and all main and secondary roads are traversed with extreme caution, except for the following roads:
Al-Mafraq Governorate and Al-Ramtha District: It is witnessing snow and rain, and all main roads are open with great caution.
Ajloun Governorate: It is witnessing heavy snowfall, and the main roads are open with great caution, except for the following roads:
Jerash Governorate: It is witnessing snowfall, and all main roads are traversed with extreme caution.
Central region:
Al-Balqa Governorate: It witnesses heavy snowfall and accumulations, and there are several closed areas due to the accumulation of snow, as follows:
- Mahes area, closure of all main and secondary roads.
Sixty Street Road.
Dababneh Road.
Printing Zee Bridge Road.
Fuhais Bridge Road.
Fuheis internal roads.

Madaba Governorate: Snow falls on all main roads, open with extreme caution.
Zarqa Governorate: All roads are crossed with extreme caution, except for the following:
• Birin Road closed due to the accumulation of snow.
• Sarout Road closed due to the accumulation of snow.
• Al-Kamasha road is closed due to the accumulation of snow.
Al-Rusaifa District: The Wadi Al-Qamar area is closed, as a precaution, due to the high water level.
Southern Province:
Al-Karak Governorate: It is witnessing snowfall, and all main roads are traversed with extreme caution.
Tafila Governorate: Snow fell and all main roads are traversed with extreme caution, except for Sherif Al-Janoub Road towards Busayrah, which is closed due to the accumulation of snow.
Al Shoubak Brigade: It is snowing and all the main roads are traversed with extreme caution.
Ma'an Governorate: All main roads are open with extreme caution, except for the following roads:
• The royal road is closed due to the accumulation of snow.
• Al-Marigha road towards Ras Al-Naqab is closed due to the formation of freezing and frost.
Petra Province: All main roads are covered with extreme caution due to thick fog, except for the following roads:
• Dalagh Road - Wadi Musa closed due to the accumulation of snow.
• And the Heisha method - the landing gear is closed due to the formation of freezing.
Northern and Southern Badia regions: All roads are open with caution.
The central Badia regions are witnessing snowfall, and all the main roads are traversed with extreme caution, except for the following roads:
• The airport road towards Al Mayah Street is closed due to the accumulation of snow.
• Al-Muwaqar road towards Al-Azraq is closed due to the accumulation of snow.
The directorate called on citizens to take caution and use public safety means while driving, avoid leaving homes except for the utmost necessity, and to stay away from low-lying areas and torrential streams, and to comply with the instructions of the public security men deployed on the roads to guide and assist them.
She stressed the need to follow the preventive behavior in dealing with heating devices, and to call the unified emergency number (911) or the (911) application in case of needing any assistance or reporting a complaint.
