Jordan | Fatwa: Sunday is the first day of the month of Muharram for the Hijri year 1446

Weather of Arabia - His Eminence the Grand Mufti, Dr. Ahmed Al-Hasanat, announced that next Sunday is the first day of the month of Muharram for the Hijri year 1446.

And raising the highest verses of good deeds of congratulations and blessings to the shrine of His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, his trustworthy Crown Prince, and the Hashemite family, asking God Almighty to make it a year of goodness and blessings for our country and our Arab and Islamic nation.

The Hijri New Year of this year 2024/1446 AH falls on July 7, marking the beginning of the new Hijri year 1446 AH.

An official holiday on the occasion of the Hijri New Year

On Monday, Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh issued an official statement announcing the suspension of work in ministries, official departments, public institutions and bodies, public universities, municipalities, joint services councils, the Greater Amman Municipality, and companies wholly owned by the government, on Sunday, July 7, 2024 AD. , corresponding to the first of Muharram 1446 AH, on the occasion of the Hijri New Year.

The notice excluded ministries, official departments, and institutions whose work nature requires otherwise.

In commemorating this occasion, the Prime Minister stressed that all ministries, official departments, institutions and public bodies should contribute to highlighting this occasion, giving it its right, and displaying it in a way that befits it.
