ArabiaWeather.com- Jordan is expanding the use of solar energy in many mosques in the Kingdom, as 31 new mosques have been included in the solar energy project in Zarqa Governorate.
Where the Director of the Zarqa Endowments, Dr. Abdullah Zaidan, confirmed that this step comes within the project aimed at rationalizing consumption and reducing the electricity bill to zero instead of paying about 40 thousand dinars per month for electricity.
And he indicated that the Directorate is working on the model mosque project, which includes, in addition to generating solar energy , treating gray water to benefit from it in irrigating trees and gardens.
It is noteworthy that the cost of alternative energy projects in mosques in all regions and governorates of Jordan has so far amounted to about 5 million dinars, according to previous statements by the Minister of Awqaf, Islamic Affairs and Holy Sites, Dr. Hayel Daoud.
