Arab Weather - The weather maps outputs in "Arab Weather" still indicate that the Kingdom will be affected, starting next Wednesday , by a state of atmospheric instability accompanying an extension of the Red Sea depression and cover for several days. Therefore, God willing, it is expected that significant changes will occur in the weather conditions in various regions of the Kingdom.

Flash rain and possibly hail showers expected in some areas

Weather forecasters said that the nature of unstable conditions varies in depressions, due to the different characteristics they carry in the accompanying weather system. Unstable conditions are characterized by random and sudden rainfall within narrow geographical areas, and are sometimes accompanied by the fall of large hailstones and the occurrence of thunderstorms due to the thermal differences that arise between the upper and surface layers of the atmosphere. The clouds accompanying unstable conditions are characterized by their sudden formation within a local area, as these clouds are fed by the tropical moisture rushing from the Arabian Peninsula accompanying the extension of the Red Sea depression and take random paths during their formation.

Floods and torrents

As mentioned earlier, unstable conditions are characterized by sudden and random showers of rain. In some cases, these rains are heavy and very heavy, causing the formation of local and perhaps transferred floods that move from the place of heavy rain to the valley courses to areas that are not exposed to rainfall. Therefore, during unstable conditions, one must be careful of this phenomenon, which can sometimes be dangerous, and stay away from the bottoms of valleys and ravines.

Unstable conditions accompanied by strong and sudden winds

Unstable conditions are usually accompanied by sudden winds, which arise during the formation of thunderclouds and are called downdrafts. These winds are usually strong and activate at a high and sudden speed, leading to dust storms and heavy dust raising, which may lead to a decrease in horizontal visibility and sometimes develop into sandstorms. Also, the blowing of these winds sometimes leads to the flying of poorly secured objects.

Among the weather phenomena accompanying cases of atmospheric instability are the occurrence of lightning, thunder and perhaps thunderstorms, which are formed by the temperature differences between the upper surface layers of the atmosphere and the continued rise of warm air and water vapor upwards and the continued carrying of water droplets and hailstones upwards, which increases the process of friction and creates electrical charges that are discharged to the surface of the Earth and appear to everyone in the form of thunderstorms that are sometimes accompanied by lightning.
