Arab Weather - The Kingdom witnessed a slight decrease in temperatures today, Saturday, and relatively stable and cold weather in all regions, with the appearance of scattered amounts of clouds and moderate north-easterly winds in general.
Weather forecasters at "Arab Weather" said that the latest weather map analyses indicate that the Kingdom will be increasingly affected on Saturday/Sunday night and Sunday morning by a very cold and dry air mass accompanying the extension of the Siberian high pressure system from the east.
Therefore, tonight the weather is expected to become noticeably colder, and temperatures will drop further tonight, making the weather cold to very cold in all areas except the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba.
The specialists at the Arab Weather Operations Center are following up on the response of the factors of the layers close to the Earth’s surface with the development of the cold Siberian wave at dawn tomorrow, Sunday, as the weather maps specialized in tracking temperature variables at a height of 2 meters above the Earth’s surface indicate that temperatures will reach nearly zero degrees Celsius in large areas of the Kingdom, including city centers, while they are expected to fall below zero degrees Celsius in the eastern parts of the Kingdom, including the eastern Badia and desert areas.
Other weather factors, such as the presence of a fair amount of relative humidity on Sunday morning and clear skies, help in the formation of frost due to the expected significant drop in temperatures, which helps in the freezing of dew drops condensing on plants, crops and cold surfaces in general.
God willing, it is expected that the easterly winds will be active on Sunday due to the presence of high surface pressure to the east of the Kingdom accompanying the Siberian high, which will push cold and dry southeasterly winds that will increase the feeling of coldness significantly, especially during the evening and night hours of Sunday.
During Sunday/Monday night and Monday morning, the Kingdom is expected to be further affected by the cold and dry air mass, with the weather becoming extremely cold and dry, and the winds being southeasterly and moderate in speed, significantly increasing the feeling of coldness.
For example, the expected temperatures on Sunday night and Monday morning in the capital Amman are close to zero degrees Celsius, while the expected apparent temperature is minus 1 to minus 2 degrees Celsius.
