Jordan: The `local administration` declares a medium state of emergency

Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Local Administration declared a medium state of emergency in all regions of the Kingdom, and according to developments in the weather situation, due to the Kingdom being affected by an air depression that is expected to witness heavy rain in the morning hours accompanied by thunder and hail at times, which may lead to the formation of torrential rains in valleys and low areas ( According to the meteorological department bulletin)

The Ministry asked the (100) emergency rooms in the municipalities, the (21) rooms in the Joint Services Councils, and the main emergency room in the Ministry’s center in Amman, to prepare for the weather, to deal immediately with any emergency events accompanying the depression, and to inform the main emergency room of developments. The Ministry of Local Administration stressed the importance of municipalities, joint service councils, and directorates of municipal affairs in various governorates and brigades to inspect and ensure the readiness of mechanisms, equipment, emergency teams, and sustaining supplies in emergency cases, in addition to following up the situation in hot areas, valley streams, torrential rains, ferries, and main roads early and continuously, and dealing with any accidents. immediately.

The Ministry stressed on all emergency rooms the importance of coordination and full cooperation with the administrative governors and operating and other emergency rooms of the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, the Interior, Civil Defense and Public Security, the Jordanian Armed Forces, the Greater Amman Municipality and others, and the involvement of mechanisms, equipment, cadres and capabilities available to them in facing cases and events. The emergency that accompanies the weather situation, and announcing emergency room phone numbers to citizens in various media and on social networking sites, and repeating this to ensure permanent communication with citizens.

The Ministry of Local Administration also stressed to citizens who live near low areas, valley streams, torrential rains, ferries, and hotspots known to be dangerous in the winter season permanently, the need to stay away from these areas in order to preserve their lives and the lives of their families, families and property.

The Ministry directed the municipalities to continue to inspect its emergency shelters, which amount to (124) shelters, in anticipation of any emergency cases that will be dealt with by its emergency rooms, or other emergency rooms, which can accommodate more than (1,500) beds.
