Arab Weather - Dr. Ahmed Mahmoud Al-Shuraidah, a researcher in agricultural heritage, said that the "Saham guava" harvest season has begun in Bani Kinanah District in Irbid Governorate, northern Jordan.

The farmers of the town of Sahm Al-Kafarat in Bani Kinanah District in the far north of Irbid Governorate have done well in investing in their agricultural lands located on the southern bank of the Yarmouk River, taking advantage of the pure river water, the alluvial soil and the semi-tropical climate in the valley to cultivate the guava tree in an organic and food-safe way, far from agricultural fertilizers or pesticides.
Despite the many challenges, the people of this town have cultivated about (1500) dunums that produce the best types of guava in the Kingdom; if the production of one dunum of land planted with guava is between (1500) to (1800) kilograms per day.

Guava

"Saham Guava" has become an agricultural trademark of this promising historical town on the banks of the Yarmouk River; "Saham Guava" has become a synonym for this excellent autumn fruit; and "Saham Guava" has become a fundamental pillar of agricultural tourism in Bani Kinanah District and northern Jordan.
It remains to be known that guava is rich in minerals, especially vitamin C, which helps to strengthen the immune system, which in turn helps to fight common bacterial and fungal diseases. It also works to regulate blood sugar levels and promote heart health and digestive health.
