Weather of Arabia - The autumn season of this year has started to be excellent in terms of rain performance in most of the governorates of Jordan, praise be to God. The innovative indicator of measuring the intensity of atmospheric depressions from the Arab weather and two states of atmospheric instability, and these two weather systems brought good amounts of rain in different regions of the Kingdom.
The data of the Jordan Meteorological Department show that the rainy performance of the current rainy season until the date of 11/10/2022 is distinguished and exceeded the rates assumed for this time of the year in many regions of the Kingdom, especially the central (western and eastern) regions. A performance of 129% over the assumed average of 31 mm of rain, while Madaba station recorded the most rainy area with 43 mm since the beginning of the rainy season, and a performance of 353% compared to the assumed rate of 12 mm. The capital Amman also has had excellent rain performance until now, as most of the stations inside the capital have exceeded their usual rates, such as the Al-Hussein Gardens station, whose performance has so far reached 110% and by 30 mm compared to 27 mm as an assumed total based on the rates of previous years (which is calculated Based on what was recorded on the ground during the past thirty years).
Referring to the same statistical report, it shows that there is a noticeable difference in rain performance between the southern governorates of the Kingdom, while Ma’an governorate recorded a distinguished rain performance of 218%, but the city of Wadi Musa and Aqaba, for example, witnessed weak rainfall and did not exceed the percentage of rain that did not exceed The rain performance is 30% in those areas, and this is considered one of the most important features of the cases of atmospheric instability, which is the randomness in precipitation and the geographical irregularity. While the central regions of the Kingdom, both western and eastern, were directly affected by the conditions of atmospheric instability and the low-air system, which made them, God willing, the most fortunate with rain. On the contrary, the results of analyzing the same data indicate that the northern regions of the Kingdom suffer from weak rain performance despite its occurrence in those areas. For example, the rain performance in each of Irbid reached 23%, while in Ajloun 43%, while the rain performance increased well Very in Jerash to 90%.
Not only that, but the data of the Jordan Meteorological Department show that the Ma’an station exceeded 36% of the entire seasonal average, in other words, more than a third of the rain rate fell as it did in the same area over a period of more than five months (seasonal average). ).
There is no doubt that Jordan and several regions of the eastern Mediterranean are affected by an excellent start of the rainy season, which is in complete contrast to the previous season, and this reflects the large fluctuation of rain from year to year in the climate of Jordan, due to its occurrence between two climates; Desert climate and Mediterranean climate. This excellent start of the rainy season is the result of the behavior and distribution of air masses and air systems from the Atlantic Ocean, the North Pole and the European continent, where the latter is witnessing a strong air rise over large areas, and it extends in all layers of the atmosphere over those regions, and with direct support From strong depressions in the Atlantic Ocean and over the Greenland region, where it contributes to the continuous push of warm currents to the European depth, originating from Africa, which is a major factor and guaranteeing the rush of the least hot masses from the European continent towards the eastern Mediterranean, which resulted in the formation of Cases of atmospheric instability and depression.
And we ask God Almighty to grant us relief and goodness for the country.
