Jordan: Works deal with 4 rockslides on the Thiban - Mujib - Karak road

Weather of Arabia - The Ministry of Public Works and Housing confirmed today, Friday, that work is currently taking place since the afternoon hours by its cadres and mechanisms in cooperation with the Public Security Directorate with 4 rockslides on the Thiban - Mujib - Karak road.

The ministry said in a press statement issued by the media unit, that its cadres affiliated with the directorates of Madaba and Karak reached the site of the collapse immediately and work is underway to remove dirt and rocky obstacles to reopen the road to vehicle movement, noting that the closure came as a precaution to preserve the safety of citizens on the road.

The Ministry called on citizens to exercise the utmost caution and caution and not hesitate to contact the emergency rooms to report any emergency or observation during the prevailing weather conditions, according to information received from the Meteorological Department.

It called on citizens to stay away from streams of torrents and valleys and to take the utmost care and caution while driving vehicles due to the possibility of low horizontal visibility and the formation of slips on roads in some areas.

The Ministry confirmed its readiness to deal with the expected weather conditions through its 98 teams distributed in the various governorates of the Kingdom, noting that it is conducting periodic inspection tours to all regions of the Kingdom based on the directives of the Minister of Public Works and Housing, Engineer Yahya Al-Kasabi.

The ministry indicated that it is conducting permanent and continuous coordination with its partners in the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army, the Crisis Department, the Public Security Directorate, the municipalities, the Amman Municipality, the Meteorological Department, the Contractors Syndicate and all partners to ensure that any notice that arrives is addressed immediately and in the interest of the citizen and according to the approach followed government.
