Arab Weather - Based on the latest outputs from computer simulations, Arab Weather experts reported that the Kingdom will be affected by a low-pressure system during the hours of Monday/Tuesday night and Tuesday day, which is expected to begin gradually receding as the evening and night of Tuesday/Wednesday pass, God willing, but it will bring more rainfall to many regions.
God willing, during the hours of Monday/Tuesday night, cold weather is expected to prevail in all regions, with minimum temperatures reaching around 6 degrees Celsius in the capital, Amman. The weather will be variable between partly cloudy and cloudy, and God willing, showers of rain will fall at intervals in the north and center of the Kingdom, perhaps heavy at times, especially in the north of the country.
Late at night, rainfall extends towards Karak Governorate, and low clouds touching the ground cause fog to form over many mountain heights, leading to a decrease in horizontal visibility. The winds are southwesterly, moderate in speed, and active at times.
On Tuesday morning, coinciding with the work of employees and university students, the weather will be very cold and showers of rain will fall on the north and center of the Kingdom. The rain will be heavy at times, extending with less intensity to parts of Karak and Tafilah. During the rest of the day, temperatures will be colder than their average for this time of year.
The weather is generally cold in most areas, and fluctuates between partly cloudy and cloudy. Rain continues to fall in the north and center of the Kingdom, including Karak Governorate, and gradually extends over time to Tafilah Governorate. During the afternoon and evening hours, the rainfall extends and is concentrated in the south of the Kingdom in the form of scattered showers, sometimes accompanied by hail falling over the highlands.
There is a weak chance of some precipitation, sometimes freezing in the form of light snow, over the high peaks of the Sharah Mountains, such as Jabal Mabrak, Al-Haisha, and the peaks of Al-Qadisiyah and Al-Rashidiyah. The winds will be southwesterly, moderate in speed, and active at times.
During the night hours of Tuesday/Wednesday (New Year's Eve), the low pressure system will recede, cloud cover will decrease, and night temperatures will drop, making the weather cold to very cold, especially over the mountainous highlands and eastern plains. It is expected that the chances of rain will gradually decrease and remain in the early night in random and limited parts of the south of the Kingdom.
Surface humidity levels will also rise significantly, and weather conditions will be conducive to the formation of fog in large areas of the Kingdom, especially the eastern plains, including the Zizia and Dabaa areas and Queen Alia International Airport. The fog will be dense and may cause a decrease or even a complete absence of horizontal visibility, especially at dawn and on Wednesday morning.
Temperatures tend to rise slightly on the first day of the new year 2025 and approach their usual rates for this time of year on Wednesday. The weather will be generally cold in most areas, with fog forming in the morning hours in several parts of the Kingdom. The fog will gradually clear over time and the winds will be light and variable.
Drive with extreme caution due to poor horizontal visibility caused by fog.
Beware of the risk of frost formation, especially in the highlands, eastern plains and desert areas.
Safe use of heating devices.
Wearing heavy clothing.
And God knows best.
