The Arab Weather Index to measure the severity of the depressions extends to five levels or five degrees, which are as follows:

1- First degree (weak low): The first class includes low-impact depressions that are associated with small amounts of rain, so that the effects of the first-class depressions in the form of low temperatures and some activity on wind speed and sporadic showers of rain in limited areas.

2- The second degree (normal low): The second degree includes the usual winter air depressions, it is natural for the Kingdom to be affected by an air depression that brings a clear decrease in temperatures and precipitation in different regions with activity on the speed of the winds and the second-degree atmospheric depressions require the issuance of important recommendations because of their accompaniment Some dangerous weather phenomena.

3- The third degree (low, medium / high efficiency): The third degree includes atmospheric depressions whose intensity ranges between medium and highly effective, so that the amounts of rain in them are greater and the temperatures are lower and are accompanied by a high abundance of rain, which requires serious alerts because of these depressions are accompanied by more severe weather phenomena From that accompanies the usual depressions.

4- The fourth degree (low and highly effective): The fourth degree includes highly effective atmospheric depressions, which are associated with effects closer to the effects of the storm, bringing strong winds and more intense rains. To hinder it.

5- The fifth degree (exceptional storm): The fifth degree is the last degree in the index of measuring the intensity of the depressions, so that this degree includes exceptional storms, whether winter or snowy, and the depressions classified in the fifth degree are associated with unprecedented and unusual weather phenomena that bring strong winds and a quantity in precipitation Extremely dangerous and unusual, and depressions classified class five lead to impeding all aspects of public life and the various state agencies, and it is mentioned that the Kingdom since the establishment of the classification has not been exposed to any air depression of the fifth degree.
