Learn about the new tourist trails in Petra

Arabiaweather.com - Ismail Qasimi - With the beginning of October 2016, the Jordanian government introduced a total of 15 new tourist itineraries in the pink city of Petra , with prices set for visitors.

The new tourist routes include:

The main trail starts from the visitor center and extends to Qasr al-Bint and lasts more than 4 hours at a cost of 50 Jordanian dinars. If the journey continues to the monastery or altar area, 20 dinars should be added.

Al-Khabatha trail, starts from the tomb of the palace to Jabal Al-Khabatha, and the journey lasts two hours for 50 dinars.

Altar path No. 1, starts from the side of the runway to the altar back and forth. The duration of the tour through this path is an hour and a half, at a cost of 35 dinars.

Altar Path No. 2, which extends from the amphitheater to Qasr al-Bint, passing through the altar, then Wadi Farasa and the Tomb of the Roman Soldier. The tour lasts 3 hours and costs 60 dinars.

The Umm Al-Bayyara trail, which extends from Qasr Al-Bint and then to the top of the mountain, Umm Al-Biyara. The path is considered high-risk and lasts between 6 to 8 hours, while the visitor must pay 120 dinars to join this tour.

The path of Jabal al-Nabi Haroun, and this 8-hour tourist trip starts from the visitor center until Wadi Sabra and back, for a fee of 150 dinars.

School Route No. 1 , extends from the visitor center to the obelisks to the view of the treasury, all the way to the altar and down through the stairs of the altar. The tour lasts for three and a half hours for 80 dinars.

School Route No. 2 , which extends from the visitor center, then the obelisks and the view of the treasury, until reaching the altar, then Wadi Farasa and Qasr al-Bint. The tour lasts 5 hours for 120 dinars.

The Dark Valley Trail The two-and-a-half-hour trek starts from the Al-Sad area and reaches Qasr Al-Bint via a high-risk trail. 50 Jordanian Dinars is required.

The monastery route starts from and to Qasr al-Bint in return for paying a financial allowance of 50 Jordanian dinars.

Other paths:

Small Petra trail, then Badir Mesiq, and the Agricultural Village for 50 dinars.

The monastery path, then the back road, the egg, the agricultural village, and the monastery, all the way to Qasr Al-Bint, for 150 dinars.

The course of the monastery, then Kharoubah al-Fajja, and the deaconesses of the rear monastery, for 90 dinars.

The path of Al-Habis Castle, then Qasr Al-Bint, the unfinished temple, the summit of Jabal Al-Bais, and the return behind the mountain to the old museum, for 50 dinars.
