The report pointed out that climate change will reduce the availability of water, change agricultural production patterns, threaten livestock production, negatively affect forests and wetlands, reduce employment opportunities in agriculture, and increase heat waves.
He stated that severe impacts have affected the Arab region due to climate change and high temperatures, exposing large numbers of people to the risks of water scarcity and drought. Increased disasters and extreme weather events cause loss of life and damage to the economy.
He added that the effects of climate change will cause the renewable water resources to decrease by 20% by 2030, as a result of reduced rainfall, increased demand for water with higher temperatures, and a wider range of seawater intrusion into groundwater.
