Arab Weather - The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council in the Philippines announced today, Sunday, the death of 25 people as a result of the combined effects of the increasing southwest monsoon and the last four tropical cyclones.

Hurricane Casualties and Missing Persons

The council explained that 13 injuries were recorded due to these effects, linked to hurricanes "Freddy", "Jennier", "Helen" and "Igmi" . It also reported eight people missing, including six in the Mimaropa region and two in Region 9.

The Philippine newspaper The Star reported that about 1,449,293 people have been affected in 1,963 villages spread across 13 provinces. It said 5,635 families, or about 23,033 individuals, are currently seeking shelter in 193 evacuation centers, while 9,194 families, or 40,231 individuals, are receiving assistance outside these centers.

The council noted that infrastructure losses exceeded P22,571,500, with a total of 48 buildings damaged.
