The length of the Colosseum is 186 meters and its width is 156 meters, and thus it takes an oval shape, while the outer wall of the building is 57 meters high and it was designed of marble and fixed with iron clips. .
The show arena was not built directly on the ground, but it was wood covered with sand to form a single field measuring 83 meters by 48 meters. Today, the walls of the hypogeum that were located below the stage can be seen, which are two underground floors in which there are tunnels leading to rooms gladiators, animal cages, and storage rooms.
