Arab Weather - Sinan Khalaf - Meteorologists at the "Arab Weather Regional Center" reported that large parts of the eastern Mediterranean basin and the Levant region were affected on Monday by a low pressure system accompanied by a cold air mass centered high above northern Turkey in the middle of the Black Sea, pushing humid winds laden with heavy rains towards the Levant region, including Syria, Lebanon, parts of Palestine and extending to Jordan.
Experts at the Arab Weather Regional Center believe that the expected heavy rains and severe thunderstorms in these countries may cause valleys to flow and flash floods to occur, which often descend from mountainous areas towards the plains. There is also an increased chance of snowfall on some mountainous heights that are more than 2,000 meters above sea level.
In response to this question, the experts at "Arab Weather" stated that the great distance of the center of the depression from the Kingdom's atmosphere and its high position to the north of Turkey in the middle of the Black Sea is a negative factor that prevents the flow of moisture towards the region, while the Kingdom continues to be affected by a high pressure system, and the impact of the condition will be limited to the north of the Kingdom with a decrease in temperatures.
