Weather of Arabia - Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Asir region and head of the Asir Development Authority, announced the launch of this year’s summer season activities under the slogan “Summer in Asir... It is terrifying,” as part of the Saudi Summer 2024 program, and the program begins at the beginning of July. Under the supervision of the District Development Authority, and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism, the Saudi Tourism Authority, and the General Entertainment Authority.

Prince Turki bin Talal expressed his deep gratitude for the participation of the government and private sectors in launching this season, expressing his appreciation for their essential contributions to its success and providing everything new on the tourism map.

Summer season 2024

The summer season of 2024 represents a continuation of the momentum achieved by the unveiling of the tourism identity of the Asir region “#Asir_Hool”, as the first regional tourism identity, in addition to the launch of the tourism website #Discover_Asir, in line with the strategy of developing the region to be a “global tourist destination throughout the year”, relying on Its authentic culture and diverse nature, benefiting from the successful activation of different seasons throughout the year, including the Ramadan and Eid season and the spring “jacaranda” season.

The season highlights the unique tourism components of the region, including its picturesque nature, ancient heritage, mild weather, and rich diversity of tourism experiences that combine beauty, cultural heritage, and sports adventures. The season aims to increase the number of visitors by more than 15% compared to the last summer season.

The Asir Summer includes many entertainment, cultural and sporting events, taking advantage of the components of the tourist area prepared by the Asir Development Authority for visitors. Such as concerts in a theater with a capacity of more than 16,000 seats, with the participation of the most prominent male and female artists in the Arab world, starting from July 5 to August 16 , in addition to events such as “circus, comedy shows, aerial shows, and musical performances.”

Regarding cultural events, the activities include Al-Muftaha Village, Basta, Abu Faraj Palaces, Al-Asabila Palaces, Bin Addan Village, Deirtna Market, and the historic Tabab, to provide visitors with a cultural experience that reflects the authenticity of the region and its ancient heritage.

The Asir Development Authority supported the activation of distinctive sports and adventure experiences such as the Hosak event, the Battle Kart event, and the Nafs event, which combine the spirit of fun sports with the charming geographical nature, in addition to tourist farms such as the Anab Farm, which is rich in perennial trees and pristine nature, which allows visitors to experience picking fresh fruits and enjoying With family in the arms of nature.

In order to ensure the diversity and distinction of this year’s summer season, the Authority supported the activation of a group of recreational residential experiences with an architectural style inspired by the heritage and culture of the region, such as “Madamak, Terhab, and Game.”
