This progress was announced during the opening of the Advanced Therapeutics Forum, which aims to increase clinical research in the field of T-cell therapy and gene therapy.
T-cell therapy is considered one of the latest developments in cancer treatment, as it depends on modifying the patient's immune cells to be able to destroy cancer cells. It is noteworthy that King Faisal Specialist Hospital occupies a prominent position in the Middle East and Africa, ranked among the best 250 academic health care institutions globally.
In a related context, the director of the Russian Gamaleya Research Center, Alexander Gintsburg, announced the start of clinical studies for the cancer vaccine by mid-2025. The vaccine is currently being tested in pre-clinical studies on mice, and aims to develop drugs that ensure the effective destruction of the tumor and metastases, which It will help patients with certain types of cancer.
