A source in the Chamber of Tourism and Travel Companies indicated that stopping B2C Umrah visas to Egypt does not mean canceling them completely, but rather organizing them to be through an approved tourist agent, stressing that these decisions are regulatory, and are in line with the rules set by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at the beginning of each season. He explained that the 2024 Hajj season crisis was the result of the issuance of unregulated visas, which led to the suspension of the “B2C” Umrah visa. He pointed out that there are two types of Umrah visas, the first is the B2B visa, which is considered the regular visa for Umrah and works normally, and the second is the B2C, which allows the pilgrim to travel to the Holy Lands indirectly, where he first goes to the Emirates or the Sultanate of Oman with a special visa, and waits there. For a 6-hour transit period, then he leaves for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah rituals on a “B2C” visa.
