Weather of Arabia - The Kingdom imposed a "critical" war on drugs, their spread, and attempts to target them through smuggling operations from abroad, in a campaign aimed at eliminating the spread of this scourge, which targets certain age groups, mostly focused on the younger generation.

The Anti-Narcotics Agency revealed the arrest of a group of people, in a number of cities, who were proven to be promoting some types of drugs. And through the “Lookout” campaign, the Anti-Narcotics Department managed to detain two people of one of the expatriate nationalities in Jeddah. They worked to promote the narcotic “shabu”, while they arrested a person in the city of Riyadh, who worked on promoting pills subject to the regulation of medical circulation.

In Asir, anti-narcotics men arrested a person for distributing narcotic hashish, and an individual in Qassim for also distributing hashish, as well as in Jazan; As it arrested two people for promoting the same narcotic substance, while it arrested a person in Tabuk for promoting “shabu”, while it kept a person in the eastern region, after he promoted hashish on social media platforms.

The Anti-Corruption Agency put the aspect of social responsibility within the methodology of its campaigns against all types of drugs, and urged the community, as a matter of maintaining security, to inform it of any observation that could be monitored, and this demand came from the public, within the framework of the “Report them” campaign.

An effective hashtag is active on social media platforms in the Kingdom, especially “Twitter”, under the title “War on Drugs”, in clear confirmation of the state’s determination, through its security services, to eradicate this scourge and its sources of smuggling and financing.

The Anti-Narcotics Department revealed, on Tuesday, that it had thwarted the smuggling of more than 12 million tablets of “narcotic amphetamine”, hidden in a shipment of pomegranate fruit, in cooperation with the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority.

This is not the first time that the Kingdom has launched a "wild" war against drugs. Rather, over the years, it has deliberately confronted this scourge, to protect society and its people from being targeted with these toxic substances, which destroy the mind and destroy human life.
