Weather of Arabia - A video clip was circulated on social media platforms, including YouTube and Twitter, showing the moment the roof of the external expansion of a mosque collapsed on the campus of King Fahd University in Dammam, in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia, as a result of heavy rain.
According to Saudi media reports, the roof that collapsed is known as “the Shinko,” and it formed part of the external expansion of the old mosque on the campus of King Fahd University. It is noteworthy that the area covered by “the Shinko” was previously an outdoor courtyard more than 20 years ago, where It has been equipped to accommodate larger numbers of worshipers.
It is noteworthy that the "Dammam Mosque" is part of the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, and is located within the university's campus in the Eastern Province, and was built in the year 1393 AH, corresponding to 1974 AD.
