Saudi Arabia | The Saudi Energy Minister announces the discovery of two `unconventional` gas fields in the Kingdom

Weather of Arabia - Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman announced today, Wednesday, that the "Saudi Aramco" company was able to discover two unconventional natural gas fields in the eastern region.

The "Awtad" unconventional natural gas field was discovered southwest of the Ghawar field, 142 km southwest of the city of Hofuf in the Kingdom, after gas flowed from the (Awtad-108001) well at a rate of 10 million standard cubic feet per day and 740 barrels of condensate.

Gas flowed from the well (Awtad-100921) at a rate of 16.9 million standard cubic feet per day and 165 barrels of condensate.

The "Al-Dahna" field of unconventional natural gas was also discovered 230 km southwest of the city of Dhahran, after gas flowed from the well (Al-Dahna-4) at a rate of 8.1 million standard cubic feet per day, and gas flowed from the well (Al-Dahna-370100) at a rate 17.5 million standard cubic feet per day and 362 barrels of condensate.

According to the "SPA" agency, the Saudi Minister of Energy stressed that the importance of these discoveries lies in strengthening Saudi Arabia's reserves of natural gas, which contributes to supporting the Kingdom's strategies and achieving the goals of the liquid fuel displacement program.
