Arab Weather - Specialists in the Weather Operations Department at the Arab Regional Weather Center for Meteorology and Weather Forecasts reported that the tropical depression will move to the Sea of Oman during the next two days, amid expectations of direct effects on most of the Sultanate's governorates. The specialists added that the latest developments and information of this air depression are being monitored in real time via satellite and computer simulation models, and periodic updates will be made of the severity of the depression.
Through the latest analyzed and received information and data, it was found that the depression is located to the northeast of the Arabian Sea, and the surface wind speed around the center is estimated at about 17-27 knots, and is centered on latitude 21.9 degrees north and longitude 68.9 degrees east, and is far from the Indian coasts (Gujarat). ) about 70 km, while it is about 930 km away from the coast of the Sultanate (Ras Al Hadd).
According to the future computer simulation of the movement of this depression, which is operated within the Arab Regional Weather Center, it is expected that this depression will move to the west / northwest during the next two days, and the direct effects of the air depression begin on Sunday, so that rains of varying intensity will fall on the governorates of North and South Al Sharqiyah, leading to runoff. Valleys and reefs and a rise in the water level in the roads, with expectations of the extension of some rainy clouds to parts of the governorates of Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah and Al Wusta, and the rains will be scattered.
All of the above is considered within the context of the Sultanate being affected by the introduction of this air depression, so that it is expected that the depression will advance on Monday to center east of the Sea of Oman, and the rains of varying intensity will expand and intensify over most of the northern governorates of the Sultanate, including North and South Al Sharqiah, Muscat, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Wusta, Dhofar and parts of Al Dhahirah It is feared that floods will form and run quickly, especially in the valleys and reefs. It is possible that sea waves will rise on the coasts of the Sea of Oman, and in conjunction with the high tide level, it may lead to an extension of sea water on some low coastal areas of the Sea of Oman.
