Get there and walk around the area

You can reach Grindelwald by private hire car, buses and organized tours, or regular train service from Interlaken is one of the main options, the train journey time is just over half an hour, and from Interlaken there are trains to other major Swiss cities.

In summer and early autumn it is also possible to reach Grindelwald on foot through the Oberland trails that you can easily use because they are organized and have the necessary signs, if you are a fan of adventure and hiking.

There are a number of chairlift lines, such as the cable car to Mänlichen which runs a few hundred meters west of Grand station, the cable car to Wiers minutes east of Grindelwald, and the cable car to Pfingstegg about fifteen minutes' walk east of Grindelwald station.

Tourist activities and adventures

There is a tourist information center in the village, and there is also a local history museum if you are looking for a place to indulge in some culture in the area. Otherwise, all you can do is either relax and enjoy the natural beauty, or practice many of the mountain sports that exist.

If you visit Switzerland in the winter , you will find Grindelwald a wonderful ski resort. You can also go by bus to Busalp for hills and winter climbs. In the summer, it turns into a special place for hiking, as it is the starting point to Eiger and through the Wetterhorn mountain trails.

You can also take a funicular ride and pass through Kleine Scheidegg at an altitude of 2061 meters above sea level, and reach the Jungfraujoch peak at an altitude of 3454 meters where there is a gazebo and an ice palace.
