Weather of Arabia - The Civil Defense Directorate stated, on its Facebook page, that rescue teams in the Karak Civil Defense Directorate managed, yesterday, Saturday, to kill five poisonous snakes that were present in a water tank inside a farm in Al-Ain.

She added that the rescue teams worked very professionally to remove these snakes from inside the tank and kill them using light and specialized rescue equipment to deal with such cases and there were no injuries reported .

It is noteworthy that in Jordan there are 37 types of serpents, seven of which are highly toxic and three are of low toxicity (canine background) .

Poisonous snake traits

The Poisonous Snakes family contains five types out of seven poisonous snakes in Jordan. This family is characterized by the following characteristics :

  • The head is a triangle .
  • Vertical scales are small and difficult to count with the naked eye .
  • Short tail .
  • The eye has a catlike pupil .
  • It has moving front fangs.
