Arab Weather - Many countries in the Middle East and North Africa are affected by a Siberian cold wave accompanied by a significant drop in temperatures to winter levels in many regions, amid very cold weather during the daytime hours, and very cold weather during the night hours, especially over high mountain heights.
Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Regional Center said that as a rare weather event, the effect of the cold Siberian winds will reach the center of the African continent, which is unusual because the Siberian winds usually affect the northern regions of the globe. These winds can lead to a significant drop in temperatures, especially at night, causing severe cold in areas that are usually warm or hot.
Temperatures drop at night to around 6-7 degrees Celsius in northern and central Sudan, northern Chad and Niger, while in some areas of northern Chad they may reach only around one degree Celsius, causing unusual coldness in the regions of Central Africa for this time of year, especially after the wave of warmth and heavy rains that the country witnessed in the past months.
The Siberian winds reached the center of the African continent due to the differences in atmospheric pressure between the eastern Mediterranean regions and the southern African continent, as the winds moved from the high-pressure areas in the eastern Mediterranean towards the low-pressure areas in Africa, and these winds come from the northern front towards central Africa.
And God knows best.
