Weather of Arabia - Meteorologist, Dr. Khalid bin Saleh Al-Zaaq , said that Al-Murabbaniyah, Al-Shabat, and Al-Aqrabiyah are the actual winter periods for the Arabs. The square represents the beginning of the cold season in December, the Shabat brings extreme cold in January, and the period ends with the scorpions at the end of February.
Al-Zaaq pointed out that the square has ended , and the month of February is preparing to leave , and during this period we witness the season of scorpions, which is moderate but not devoid of sudden cold attacks, and their coldness is “stinging,” which made it called the season of scorpions.
Al-Zaaq added, in a video he posted on his “X” account, that the period of separation for scorpions is 39 days, divided into three stars:

It is expected that the season of the fat scorpion will begin on March 4 , also known as (Bayaa Al-Khabal Abatah) , which is one of the last scorpion stars, and will last for 13 days.
The fat scorpion season was given this name due to the livestock carrying fat coinciding with the arrival of spring.
This season is also known as “the cold of Al-Hasum” among the Arabs, “the cold of the old woman” among the people of the desert, and “the cold of the shula” among the people of Hijaz.
According to popular tradition, the most important features that characterize the atmosphere during this period of the year, which comes at the end of the winter season, are when the temperature rises, and many expect the beginning of the spring season, but the cold strikes them again, so the winter season does not end with the arrival of this period.
