Arab Weather - The outputs from the computer simulation at the Arab Weather Center showed that the coasts of the Levant, especially the Syrian and Lebanese coasts, will have good chances of rain in the coming days, as a result of being affected by unstable weather conditions during the passage of air depressions from the central Mediterranean to the northeast, accompanied by snowfall over the mountainous heights.
In detail, the Levant coasts are affected by successive upper waves passing through the end of this week and until the last days of this year, resulting in the proliferation of large amounts of rainy cumulonimbus clouds along the Levant coastline. We specifically mention the Syrian and Lebanese coasts, where rain falls over several days separated by some periods of time. The rain is heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms and hail showers.
Meteorologists at the Arab Weather Center explained that the final rainfall is expected to be large, ranging from 150 to 250 mm of rain, and may exceed that depending on the interaction of the terrain and mountains with the rain clouds. This amount means that the surface of the earth on the coasts of Syria and Lebanon, in particular, will receive large amounts of water. If the rainfall is 200 mm, it is equivalent to 200 liters of water per square meter.
God willing, rain is expected to include the Palestinian coasts, especially the northern ones, and extend to parts of the interior regions, but with less intensity. As for the Gaza Strip, the weather is expected to remain cold, especially at night, with good chances of rain during the night hours of Sunday/Monday and Monday, when rain falls, which may be heavy at times, increasing the suffering of the displaced in the tents.
Given the uniqueness of the mountainous heights in Syria and Lebanon, which are characterized by high peaks above sea level, it is expected that snow will fall and accumulate on many of the high mountainous heights in Syria and Lebanon, especially Mount Hermon. It is worth noting that these peaks, which are accustomed to receiving large amounts of snow, have recently suffered from a scarcity of snowfall due to the lack of weather conditions affecting the Levant region, most of which have been characterized by rain.
And God knows best.
