ArabiaWeather.com- The Director General of the Upper Egypt Antiquities Region, Dr. Mostafa Waziri, confirmed that the Ministry of Antiquities has drawn up a plan to preserve the archaeological treasures in Luxor Governorate.
He added in a statement today, Monday, that the measures to protect the ancient tombs were completed a long time ago, explaining that the tombs, temples and valleys of Luxor on the western and eastern mainland of the governorate are secured in the event of rain or torrential rain.
He pointed out that cement walls were built around the entrances to protect against water, and engines were prepared to suck it in if it leaked into the interior, as is the case in major temples, where a plan was developed to withdraw water from the places where it congregates to preserve the pharaonic drawings and inscriptions.
